At the Yorkshire Meat & Game Larder our aim is to bring together the very best in locally soured, traceable produce. We work with hand-picked local suppliers and estates to bring you a range of meat and game that has been raised to high quality welfare standards, is sustainable sourced within a 10 mile radius of our shop in South Cave. We also use a local slaughter house based in Goole for our Lamb and Beef.

Martin Backhouse is from Couper farm near Goole. His farm is a Farm assured mixed farm. He is a 4 the generation farmer and his hobbies are skiing and F1 racing.
His pigs are a cross of large white, pietrain and Duroc.
Most of our beef is supplied by Mick’s Beef. Mick Richards runs a long established traditional grass farm in North Newbald where he finishes beef and typically has a small head of around 60 beef cattle at any one time.
The farm is proud of their high welfare standards and are fully Animal Welfare Approved (AWA).
All our poultry is supplied by Soanes, the freshest and tastiest free range and grain-fed, air-chilled chickens in the UK based at Church Hill Farm in Driffield. All of these chickens are slow grown and grain-fed for maximum taste and nutrition. The chickens are raised to high standards of welfare and are Premium Grade A. Soanes Poultry is a family owned business which has been rearing and preparing poultry for over 65 years

Most of our lamb is supplied by Andrew Woodall and reared on his farm in Riplingham in the Yorkshire Wolds just 3 miles from our shop. It is an arable and grass farm with a flock of around 500 ewes. The farm is proud of their high welfare standards and are fully Animal Welfare Approved (AWA).
Paddy has a long standing relationship with Woody having served his farming apprenticeship on this farm as a young 14 year old student!
Our venison is sourced by Paddy Mountifield from selected estates on the Southern end of the Yorkshire Wolds in partnership with the local deer management programme.
